This piece began with the desire to capture the subtle, yet powerful movement of the ocean as it meets the shore. The muted, earthy tones reflect the quiet calm of the early morning hours, where the waves roll in gently but are always in motion. Inspired by the natural world, the creation of the piece was rooted in a meditative process—allowing each brushstroke to flow organically.
The painting was created using a mix of smooth, sweeping gestures and textured layers, which mimic the rhythm of the sea. Starting with a soft, sandy base, I gradually layered different tones of beige, grays, and whites, emphasizing the delicate balance between the turbulence of the ocean and the tranquility of the beach. The abstract nature of the painting allows the viewer to interpret the waves in their own way, offering a personal connection to the piece.
As the brushstrokes took shape, I intentionally left certain areas of the canvas more open, reflecting the wide expanse of the shore where the water meets the land, while other sections were densely layered to create the illusion of crashing waves.
